Westfield Newmarket Local Hero
Westfield Local Heroes are nominated by their communities, and the outcome of the public vote will determine the three successful 2021 Local Heroes for every Westfield centre, with each of their affiliated organisations awarded a $10,000 grant to support their work to thrive.
We are very proud to announce that our TimeOut Board member, Doug Hanna, is a Local Hero finalist for Westfield Newmarket! Please take a minute to recognise and give back to Doug who is doing amazing work in the community, and for TimeOut charity.
Doug Hanna had made it his mission to gift every person with a terminal illness a memorable holiday with their family through his work with TimeOut. The charitable trust has a database of 135 holiday homes around the country that are available to these families. Doug has opened his own holiday home to 55 families so far.
Westfield Local Heroes are nominated and voted for by their communities, with the three top finalists per Westfield centre each awarded a $10,000 grant for their affiliated organisation. If Doug is successful, the TimeOut Charitable Trust will use its funds for a part-time employee to help it reach more terminally ill patients.
